La Grange vs. No. 4 Cuero

When: 7:30 p.m. Friday Where: La Grange Records: La Grange is 3-6 overall and 2-2 in district. Cuero is 9-0 and 4-0 in district Of Note: The Leps host the No. 4-ranked Gobblers in their regular season finale. Cuero has rolled through the regular season undefeated so far and has scored at least 49 points in each of their last five games. La Grange has clinched a playoff spot but will be the 4th place finisher unless they beat Cuero and Giddings loses to Gonzales. Cuero GB Mason Notaro has thrown for 1,747 yards this season and 25 TDs.

Last meeting: La Grange lost to Cuero 49-7 last season as Cuero ran for 486 yards. The Leps only score came on a Bravion Rogers TD pass to Oliver Gunn.

Schulenburg vs. Thrall

When: 7:30 p.m. Friday Where: Schulenburg Records: Schulenburg is 4-5 overall and 3-2 in district. Thrall is 6-3 and 3-2.

Of Note: The Shorthorns have already clinched a playoff berth but this game will determine whether they finish third or fourth. Thrall is coming off a 20-14 loss to Hearne last week. Schulenburg, meanwhile, gave No. 10-ranked Holland all it could handle last week before a disastrous fourth quarter allowed Holland to rally from a 12-point deficit escape with a 36-32 win.

Last meeting: Thrall defeated Schulenburg 38-14 last season as Thrall rushed for 426 yards. Schulenburg’s only scores came on a John Davis touchdown run and a TD pass from Jayse Janda to Kenny Schramek.

Playoff Scenarios

• The Leps have clinched a playoff spot and will likely end up facing Waco Connally (6-3) in the first round of the playoffs.

• If the Shorthorns win Friday they will face Johnson City (7-2) in the first round of the playoffs. If Schulenburg loses Friday they will face Mason (9-0).

No. 10 Holland vs. Flatonia

When: 7:30 p.m. Friday Where: Flatonia Records: Flatonia is 5-4 overall and 2-3 in district. Holland is 9-0 and 5-0.

Of Note: This marks the first time since 2014 that Flatonia will miss the playoffs as losses the last two weeks knocked them from postseason contention. Holland remained undefeated with a big fourth quarter rally to edge Schulenburg last week 36-32. Senior Kobe Burton had run for 645 yards and 11 touchdowns this season. Senior quarterback Cale Janecka has thrown for 554 yards and six TDs.

Last meeting: Last year Flatonia beat Holland 49-17 as Fidel Venegas threw for 214 yards and three touchdowns. Dayton Cliffe ran for two touchdowns and caught a TD pass.
