La Grange vs. Giddings

When: 7:30 p.m. Friday Where: La Grange Records: La Grange is 3-4 overall and 2-0 in district. Giddings is 1-6 and 0-2.

Of Note: The Leps and the Buffaloes come into this annual rivalry heading in opposite directions. La Grange is riding a three game win streak while Giddings has lost five in a row. The Buffaloes only win came against Jarrell 49-42 in Week 2. Giddings has allowed 31 or more points in every game this season, which could be a bad match-up against a Leps team that amassed 599 total yards last week in a 53-21 win over Caldwell.

Last meeting: La Grange beat Giddings 38-14 last season as Jakobe Wilkerson ran for two touchdowns and Jaden Wiliams and Nate Scott also scored.

Schulenburg vs. Weimar

When: 7:30 p.m. Friday Where: Schulenburg Records: Schulenburg is 4-3 overall and 3-0 in district. Weimar is 6-2 and 2-2.

Of Note: Schulenburg heads from one rivalry game into another. Last week they beat their western I-10 neighbors Flatonia 43-28 led by a six touchdown night from quarterback Aaron Janecek. Now they face their eastern I-10 neighbor Weimar. After losing their first two district games of the season Weimar has bounced back to win two in a row to fight back into the playoff race.

Last meeting: Last year Weimar defeated Schulenburg 12-7. John Davis scored the only TD for the ‘Horns and the Wildcats scored the go-ahead TD in the fourth quarter.
