The La Grange volleyball team surged into the second round of the 4A playoffs with a sweep of Houston Worthing Monday 25-10, 25-14, 25-9 at Katy’s Merrell Center.

The victory improves the Lady Leps’ record to 20-23 overall.

“At this point in the season, you don’t win, you don’t keep playing,” La Grange head coach Leslie Coltrain said.

They now advance to the area round where they were set to play Gateway Prep at 7 p.m. at Bastrop High School Thursday Nov. 2.

In Monday’s victory La Grange was led in kills by Cara Homer who had nine and Carley Ulrich who had eight.

Haylie Cooper had seven digs and Mara Colon had five.

Jena Jobb had eight aces. Phoebe Tucker had 20 assists and Kylie Trlicek had 13.

Lyndie Edson had two blocks.

Fayetteville

Beats Dime Box

The Fayetteville volleyball team advanced to the second round of the 1A playoffs with a four set victory over Dime Box Monday 25-8, 21-25, 2513, 25-16.

Freshman Cambree Denham led the Lady Lions in kills with 13. Kayme Schley had 12, Tara Vitek had seven, Lainey Gromaski had five and Peyton Jurecka had four. Emily Keilers and Schley each had five aces, Rylie Dyer had four and Denham had three. Marissa Rohde had 17 digs, Schley had 11 and Keilers had nine. Rohde had 30 assists.

The Lady Lions (18-22) now advance to play Neches Thursday at 6 p.m. in Hearne.

Schulenburg Rolls

Past Woodsboro

The Schulenburg volleyball team blasted Woodsboro 25-7, 25-12, 25-11 Tuesday See night in Cuero.

Jessalyn Gipson had 13 kills, Meredith Magliolo had 10, Emmrie Marx had eight, Reagan Dusek had four and Brooke Redding had three.

Keaton Walker had five aces and Landry Zapalac and Madison Kunschick had three each.

Kieryn Adams had 21 digs. Clara Magliolo and Kunschick had five each.

Zapalac had 36 assists. The Lady Horns are 3312 overall and now advance to face Thorndale at 7 p.m. Thursday in Giddings.

RT-C Second

Rounder Set

The Round Top-Carmine volleyball team (33-7) had a first round bye and now will face Leverett’s Chapel in the second round Thursday Nov. 2 at 6 p.m. at North Zulch. Leverett’s Chapel (20-20) defeated High Island Tuesday 25-21, 26-24, 25-14.

Flatonia

Eliminated

The Flatonia volleyball team was knocked out of the playoffs Monday, losing to Skidmore-Tynan 25-22, 2513, 25-16.
