Flatonia Wins Another Nail-Biter to Move Up Standings
Zimmerman Snags 3 Interceptions to Power Win
The Flatonia football team continues to live dangerously, but it’s working.
The Bulldogs last five games have all be decided by a touchdown or less, and Flatonia has won four of those, including downing Hearne 21-19 Saturday.
Two missed second half extra point tries by Hearne was the difference.
The victory improves Flatonia to 5-2 overall and 2-1 in district with the win as they prepare to host Schulenburg Friday.
Against Hearne, Flatonia’s Beck Zimmerman snagged three interceptions and Keegan Green intercepted two.
Green also scored Flatonia’s first touchdown of the game on a three-yard run.
Then in the second half Kade Giese caught a pair of touchdown passes from Cale Janecka and Uriel Manzano was perfect on those all-important extra point kicks.
Flatonia 21, Hearne 19
