Flatonia Rallies Their Way to a Homecoming Victory

The Flatonia Bulldogs orchestrated a second half comeback to beat Nixon-Smiley 21-14 on homecoming night in Flatonia.

The Bulldogs trailed 14-7 at halftime, but the Flatonia defense held Nixon-Smiley scoreless in the second half.

A third quarter touchdown run by Kobe Burton (and ensuing Uriel Manzano kick) tied the game at 14-14.

Then Flatonia’s Beck Zimmerman scored the game winner in the fourth quarter on a one-yard touchdown run.

Burton ran for a teamhigh 86 yards for Flatonia and Keegan Green added 72 on the ground.

Flatonia limited Nixon-Smiley to just 100 yards of total offense.

The Mustangs fell to 0-3 with the loss while Flatonia improved to 2-1. Flatonia plays at Falls City this Friday. The Beavers are 1-2 and coming off a 24-21 loss to Stockdale.
