Brent Mascheck’s first game as new head coach of Flatonia turned out pretty well. The Bulldogs pounded St. Paul 49-26 in the season opener for both teams.

Flatonia ran for 449 total yards and got two rushing touchdowns from Keegan Green and one each from Caysen Perez, Larry Perez, Luis Vela and Kobe Burton. Burton also caught a touchdown pass from quarterback Beck Zimmerman.

The Bulldogs will try to keep the success going against a very tough opponent next week, Hallettsville, which pounded Shiner 41-8 last week. Last year Hallettsville was the only team to beat Flatonia in the regular season.
