Fayetteville, RT-C Win District CC Titles
Fenhaus and Salinas Grab Individual Crowns The District 29-1A cross country meet was held last week and the Fayetteville boys and the Round Top-Carmine girls captured district titles. The Fayetteville girls also advance to regionals as the district runner-up.
The Regional Meet is on Monday, October 23 at Texas A&M Corpus Christi University, Dugan track and soccer stadium. The 1A Varsity Girls will run at 9:30 a.m. followed by 1A Varsity Boys at 10 a.m.

1. Round Top-Carmine - 29 2. Fayetteville - 55 3. North Zulch - 79 4. Richards - 106 5. McDade - 110 Individually, Fayetteville’s Cole Fenhaus won the boys district title, as part of the sweep by the Lions of the top five places. Kole Schmitt was second, Lawson Fritsch was third, Mason Fenhaus was fourth and Keagan Supak was fifth and Emanuel Champs was 11th.
On the girls side, RT-C’s Maggie Salinas won the district title. Fayetteville’s Saige Gasaway was third, RT-C’s Avery Nelius and Mallory Krause were 4th and 5th respectively. Jeslyn Moralez of Fayetteville was 6th. RTC’s Kennedy Flinn was 9th, Makayla Smith was 10th, Jill Eilers was 11th, Tess Eilers was 12th.

Boys Advance
The District 28-2A cross country meet was held last week in Shiner with several Fayette County athletes doing well.
On the girls side, Schulenburg was the district runner- up team and advances to regionals in Corpus Christi. Ruby Rodriguez was the Lady Horns top runner, placing second.
Makena Kopecky was third and Tasmin Cortez was ninth.
Flatonia’s Emma Kosler was sixth.
On the boys side, Flatonia was second as a team and Schulenburg was third, both advancing to regionals. Flatonia was led by Duke Sodek, who was second. Schulenburg was led by Alton Herzik, who was 10th.
