Fayetteville Rolls Into Next Round

The Fayetteville baseball team opened its postseason with back-to-back 17-0 wins over Spurger Friday in Huntsville.

Logan Fritsch, Brody Dooley, Easton Jaeger and Chance Konvicka all had multi- hit games for the Lions in Game 1. Pitchers Reid Gross, Travis Gully and Easton Jaeger combined on the shutout in Game 1.

In Game 2, pitchers Jack Schley and Konvicka combined to no-hit Spurger.

Kole Schmitt had two hits for the Lions and Logan Fritsch and Lawson Fritsch each drove in two runs.

The Lions (14-6) now advance to face Medina in a best-of-three series at Dripping Springs. There will be a doublehader Thursday beginning at 5 p.m. If necessary Game 3 would be Friday at 5 p.m.
