Fayetteville Beats Flatonia In 5-Set Volleyball Thriller

The Fayetteville volleyball team defeated visiting Flatonia Tuesday in five sets.

Fayetteville won the oddnumbered sets, culminating with a 20-18 thriller in set five.

Fayetteville improved to 10-16 overall with the win. Flatonia fell to 14-10.

Kayme Schley led Fayetteville in kills with 12, Peyton Jurecka had 10 and Lainey Gromaski had eight. Schley had five aces and Devynn Moeckel had four. Ava Aldape had 20 digs and Marissa Rohde had 19. Rohde had 34 assists.

Flatonia leaders included: Aces: Aubree Mikulenka with 4. Emma Kosler, Sadie Noska, Greenli VanZandt, Summer Sodek, and Elzah Herrera all added one.

Assists: Summer Sodek with 20, Katelin Sullivan with 17, Elzah Herrera with 5, and Emma Kosler with 5.

Blocks: Emma Kosler with 4, Kalen Scott with 3. Katie Templeton with 1 and Emma Klozik with 1.

Digs: Elzah Herrera with 30, Summer Sodek with 18, and Aubree Mikulenka with 14. Kills: Katelin Sullivan with 22, Summer Sodek with 19 and Emma Kosler with 9.

The Schulenburg volleyball team defeated Lexington Tuesday 25-17, 25-23, 25-8.

The Lady Horns improved to 17-12 with the win.

Emmrie Marx led the way offensively for Schulenburg with 13 kills. Jessalyn Gipson had 10 kills and Meredith Magliolo had seven. Madison

See Kunschick had three aces. Kieryn Adams led in digs with 19 and Landry Zapalac had 10. Zapalac had 33 assists.

La Grange

Falls to Sealy

The La Grange varsity volleyball team lost a home match to Sealy Tuesday 1325, 29-27, 14-25, 12-25 as the Lady Leps dropped to 11-18 overall.

Kylie Trlicek led La Grange in kills with 11 and Carley Ulrich had nine.

Haylie Cooper led the team in digs with 17, Trlicek had 15 and Jobb had 10.

Cooper had three aces. Phoebe Tucker had 15 assists and Kylie Trlicek had 10. Cara Homer, Ulrich and Kenna Lamza each had two blocks .

Also Tuesday the La Grange JV lost to Sealy 1325, 16-25 to fall to 6-5. The La Grange freshman beat Sealy 25-16, 25-22 to improve to 4-7 overall. All three LHS volleyball teams will host Thorndale on Friday, with the varsity beginning at 4 p.m.

RT-C Wins Again

The Round Top-Carmine volleyball team beat Mumford 25-15, 25-18, 25-23 Tuesday to improve to 16-6 overall.
