Student Art Winners’ Work Will Grace Medical Office Building

The owners of the St. Mark’s Medical Office Building held an art contest for La Grange High School students. They announced the top three winners on Wednesday, April 22, and their art pieces will be on display in the halls of the office building.

“We have a lot of historical art in the building – old black and white photos of La Grange and Fayette County,” said Paul Maison, one of the building owners. “We wanted to update the art so we reached out to local students and the school to have a contest. The goal here is to accumulate art over the years from local students and display them on our walls.”

Mason said he and the other owners plan to hold this contest every year. The winners receive a scholarship as well. This year’s inaugural winners were Natalie Rios third place, Kyla Colon - second place and Camila Vega first place.

There were a total of 16 entries this year. Mason thanked La Grange art teacher Jack Vollbaum for participating in the contest. The contest theme this year was “hope, nature and community.”
