Mullins Prairie Store Poised to Re-Open

Mullins Prairie Store Poised to Re-Open

Mullins Prairie Store is set to reopen next month. The popular hangout on FM 155 south of La Grange had been closed since May 2020.

The new owners are Archie Patterson and Robert Thomas. Donna Kaase Benham will manage the place. The store will offer a line of hamburgers, sandwiches and hot dogs from the kitchen and, of course, ice cold drinks from the bar.

The previous owners built a large outdoor stage situated among the ancient live oak trees that dot the property. The new management will put that stage to good use. The Store booked live music for every Saturday night starting Feb. 5 through the end of April. The first show on Feb. 5 will feature Texas Heartland Band from 8 p.m. to midnight. – Andy Behlen
