Patterson Wins Grand Champion

Fayetteville ISD kindergartner Riley Patterson and her calf, Sabrina, took Grand Champion at the Fayette County Fair Bucket Calf competition last Sunday with the help of her mentor, Rilan Karisch. Riley is the daughter of Cory and Karlie Patterson and granddaughter of Sue Patterson. 

Public Hearing

The City is holding a public hearing on Sept. 14 at 6 p.m. at the City office to discuss the City’s 20262027 budget. All are invited to attend. The budget will be adopted at the Sept. 21 City Council meeting.

Post Office 

The City of Fayetteville and the post office will be closed in observance of Labor Day, Sept. 7.

Lake Fayette 

At Lake Fayette, it’s free to enter both parks for a funfilled Labor Day holiday weekend. Enjoy s’mores and songs, crafting DIY fishing poles, a fishing tournament and a showing of Pixar’s “Hoppers.” Rent a cabin or campground for a weekend away. Labor Day Feast

St. John’s Annual Labor Day Feast is going all out this weekend. The famous Kolache Bake Sale begins Saturday at 12 p.m. at the St. John Parish Hall. On Sunday, join in the festivities beginning at 10 a.m. with mass and polka music. Enjoy the Country Store, BBQ, live music, two auctions and a cake wheel, all under the pavilion.

The dine-in and drive-thru BBQ dinner starts at 10:30 a.m. for $15 per meal. More activities pick up at 1:30 p.m. and the Country Auction begins at 2 p.m. Raffle tickets are $10 each or six for $50, with 45 gift cards, including a grand prize of a gift card worth $5,000.

No KC BBQ 

There is no KC Barbeque in September.

St. Paul Lutheran 

St. Paul Lutheran holds services on Sundays at 10:30 a.m. Services are recorded every week, rotating among four Shared Lutheran Ministry churches and posted on the Facebook page for the Shared Lutheran Ministry of Fayette County. Services are also featured on KTIM 89.1 Sundays at noon.

St. John the Catholic Baptist 

Mass at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church is held on Wednesday evenings at 6 p.m., Saturday’s at 5 p.m. and Sunday’s at 10 a.m.

St. Mary Catholic Church 

St. Mary Catholic Church in Ellinger holds Mass on Sunday’s at 8 a.m.

Fayetteville Brethren 

Worship services at Fayetteville Brethren are held on the second, third and fourth Saturday of every month at 10 a.m. An adult Bible Study is held before the worship service from 9 - 9:45 a.m.
