LGISD Academic Recognition Banquet Honors Top Grads and Their Special Teachers

Shelby Trlicek Stavinoha, the 2012 LHS Valedictorian and current HEB Pharmacy Manager, was the featured speaker.
Caleigh Brock is the daughter of Sheira and Tony Brock. She chose Kamdyn Dandignac as her special teacher. Caleigh plans to attend Baylor University and study Neuroscience.
Ivanna Caceras-Anaya is the daughter of Juana Anaya and Julio Caceras. She chose Susie Morgan as her special teacher. Ivanna plans to attend Texas A&M.
Oliver Gunn is the son of Seth and Mary Gunn. He chose Sherry Schmidt as his special teacher. Oliver plans to attend Texas Christian University to study business.
Eryn Kutchka is the daughter of Kellie and Anthony Kutchka. She chose Deanna Hoelscher as her special teacher. Eryn plans to attend Blinn College to study radiologic technology.
Ella Nygren is the daughter of Erik and Tracy Nygren. She chose Heath Golan as her special teacher. Ella plans to attend Texas A&M and study speech language pathology.
Elena Supak is the daughter of Jody and Cheryl Supak. She chose Heather Muesse as her special teacher. Elena plans to attend The University of Texas to study nursing.
Anthony Anzaldua is the son of Carl and Veronica Anzaldua. He chose Chris Cooper as his special teacher. Anthony plans to attend The University of Texas to pursue a career as a financial planner.
Eleanor Carey is the daughter of Richard and Sarah Carey. She chose John Pineda as her special teacher. Eleanor plans to attend The University of Texas to study business.
Ella Janacek is the daughter of Jessica and Neal Janacek. She chose Stetson Gommert as her special teacher. Ella plans to attend Texas A&M and study construction science.
Hope Michalke is the daughter of Katy Michalke and Wayne Michalke. She chose Kristine Naiser as her special teacher. Hope plans to attend Texas Christian University to study nursing.
Grayson Owens is the son of Dena Meinardus. He chose Kevin Obkirchner as his special teacher. Grayson plans to attend Texas A&M to study biochemistry.
Trinity Yanis is the daughter of Deviro and Amanda Yanis. She chose Brittni Keilers as her special teacher. Trinity plans to attend Sam Houston State and study U.S. history education.
Ellah Hill is the daughter of Buster and Jenifer Hill. She chose Becky Little as her special teacher. Ellah plans to attend Sam Houston State University to study education.
Diamond McKenzie is the daughter of Aurora Trevino and Stanley McKenzie. Diamond chose Susan Knesek as her special teacher. She plans to attend Texas A&M to study nursing.
Kadyn Otto is the daughter of Brent and Katrina Otto. She chose Sarah Carey as her special teacher. Kadyn plans to attend Texas Christian University to study to be a clinical neuropsychologist.

Parker Weishuhn is the son of Ryan and Sarah Weishuhn. He chose Jack Vollbaum as his special teacher. Parker plans to attend The University of North Texas and study automotive design. La Grange superintendent Andy McHazlett gave the closing remarks Wednesday.

La Grange ISD held its 2026Academic Recognition Banquet Wednesday at Casino Hall. Each of the top ranked grads got to invite a special teacher who influenced them. Thoughts from each student and teacher about one another were read to the crowd.
