Eagle Scout Builds Flag Retirement Fire Pit for Shelby American Legion
American Legion Post 602 in Shelby recently unveiled a new flag retirement fire pit designed and constructed by Eagle Scout Gregory Huebner, son of Justin and Michelle Huebner. As an Eagle Scout Service Project, the Industry Troop 299 Senior Patrol Leader designed and fabricated the fire pit, laying the bricks and welding a customized metal ring adorned with military emblems and a POW tribute.
Gregory and three other scouts from the troop poured and finished the concrete, donated by Huebner Concrete. The bricks were reclaimed from a landscaping project. Thanks to Ann Heintschel of the Shelby post for contributing to this story.

The next City Council meeting is this Monday at 7 p.m. in the City offices. City Council meetings are held every third Monday of the month.
ARTS on the Runway

St. Paul Chicken Dinner St. Paul Lutheran is hosting their Spring Chicken Dinner on Wednesday, April 22 from 5-6:30 p.m. Pick up lots of $15 raffle tickets for a chance to win gift cards from various places. Shakespeare at Winedale University of Texas junior Lauren Bull, daughter of Tom and Sara Bull, will take the stage as the Shepherd in the Shakespeare at Winedale production of “The Winter’s Tale.” Performances are scheduled for April 24 and 25 at 7:30 p.m. “We are honored to be learning from the wonderful Dr. Katherine Steele Brokaw, who recently joined UT Austin and is directing her first class of Winedalers,” stated Lauren.

Mobile Food Pantry
The Central Texas Mobile Food Pantry will be at the Waldeck Lutheran Church from 10 a.m. - 1 p.m. this Saturday. Drive-thru only. Backseats, trunks and truck beds need to be cleared out to make room for the bags and boxes of food. Volunteers are always appreciated.
St. Paul Lutheran Church
St. Paul Lutheran holds services on Sundays at 10:30 a.m. Services are recorded every week, rotating among four Shared Lutheran Ministry churches and posted on the Facebook page for the Shared Lutheran Ministry of Fayette County. Services are also featured on KTIM 89.1 Sundays at noon.
