Boat Capsizes At Fayette Lake

Three adults and a juvenile made it to shore after their boat capsized on Fayette Lake Sunday afternoon, Sept. 13.

Public safety rangers with the Lower Colorado River Authority (LCRA) got the call around 6:10 p.m. According to LCRA spokesperson Clara Tuma, witnesses told the LCRA Rangers that the boat rolled over from wave action in the lake. Three adults and a juvenile were in the boat. All of them were wearing life jackets and made it safely to shore, Tuma said.

A nearby kayaker assisted the individuals in getting to shore, Tuma said.

Tuma said the boat was turned right side up, and then LCRA Rangers helped to pump water out of the boat, making it easier to tow back to shore.

No one was injured, Tuma said, and the LCRA Rangers cleared the scene around 7:45 p.m.
