Marilyn Anna Christen was the only child born to Herman Carl Christen and Henrietta Sophie Anna Marie (Mamie) Koehn Christen. She was born on Nov. 16, 1927, at the Heights Hospital in Houston. Christened on March 11, 1928, at the Bethel Lutheran Church in Houston, Marilyn was later confirmed on April 5, 1942 at the Addicks Methodist Church in Addicks. She graduated from Addicks High School in May of 1945, earning the honor of being class valedictorian. After high school, Marilyn attended business school and worked at a men’s clothing store in downtown Houston.

Marvin Kaase, 81, passed away July 5, 2024 in Spring. He was born in La Grange on Nov. 5, 1942, to Oscar and Otilia (Ohnheiser) Kaase. He lived and worked at his parent’s farm in La Grange with his siblings Weldon, Earline, and Delores. He graduated from La Grange High School in 1961. Marvin joined the United States Army National Guard in May of 1961, where he served for six years. Marvin also worked as a certified Journeyman Plumber for over 55 years in the Houston, Texas area.
