Kaase
Marvin Kaase, 81, passed away July 5, 2024 in Spring. He was born in La Grange on Nov. 5, 1942, to Oscar and Otilia (Ohnheiser) Kaase. He lived and worked at his parent’s farm in La Grange with his siblings Weldon, Earline, and Delores. He graduated from La Grange High School in 1961. Marvin joined the United States Army National Guard in May of 1961, where he served for six years. Marvin also worked as a certified Journeyman Plumber for over 55 years in the Houston, Texas area.
In 1962, Marvin married the love of his life, Nancy Jane (Mikel) Kaase, with whom he had three beautiful children, Donna, Mark, and Rodney, whom he loved more than life itself. He was also blessed with six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren (with one more on the way). Marvin and Nancy were happily married for 58 years. He dedicated his life to his family and he was most joyful when surrounded by his family and close friends. Marvin and his wife, Nancy, loved to go polka dancing, to church picnics around Fayette County, visiting his family farm to mow the grass, and traveling together on cruises. He liked to fish, tell jokes, paint, plant roses and tomatoes, and spend time with his friends.
Marvin was a truly good soul who would give the shirt off of his back if someone was in need. He was generous with his love and he never met a stranger. He was kind, funny, and had the most memorable laugh. He was also fiercely independent, tenacious, and stubborn when he needed to be. He brightened up every room he entered and was often the life of the party wherever he went. He was never hesitant to say I love you and always reminded people of how much they meant to him. Marvin will be lovingly remembered by all as a fantastic brother, husband, father, grandfather, greatgrandfather, and friend.
Marvin was preceded in death by his father, Oscar; his mother, Otilia; his brother, Weldon; his sister, Laverne; his cousin and best friend, Elton; and his beloved sons, Mark and Rodney.
Marvin is survived by his wife, Nancy; his daughter, Donna; his daughter-in-law Angela Shimek and husband Jeff; his grandchildren, Brittany Benham, Morgan Benham, Christopher Benham and wife Catherine, Megan Klinich and husband Garrett, Paige Harris and husband Will, and Andrew Shimek; his greatgrandchildren, Logan Keilers, Charlotte Keilers, Lydia Keilers, Evelyn Klinich, Rosalind Klinich, Sabriel Klinich, Oliver Harris, and Baby Harris due in September; his sisters, Earline Okruhlik and husband Benny and Delores Tobola and husband Edward; along with his godchildren, nieces, and nephews.
Funeral services for Marvin Edward Kaase will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, July 19, 2024 at St. Edwards Catholic Church in Spring with internment to follow at Earthman Resthaven Funeral Home and Cemetery.
A visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, July 18, 2024 with a Rosary beginning at 6 p.m. at Earthman Resthaven Funeral Home and Cemetery.
This is not a goodbye, only a see you later. We love you so incredibly much.
