Gretchen Helen (Krause) Zapalac, loving mother, grandmother and “GG”, passed away in her sleep on Dec. 20, 2025 surrounded by family.

Daniel Lee “Dan” Marek, 85, of Warrenton, passed away on the night of Dec. 23, 2025, at South Austin Medical Center in Austin.

Jurk Funeral services for Carol Jurk, 85, of Warda, were held at 2 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 29, 2025, at Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Warda with Rev. Dustin Beck officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery.

On Nov. 19, 2025, Doris Wallace peacefully passed away at the age of 87 in the home that her beloved late husband, “Tex,” had built for her.

Esse Lee Fricke, age 94 of Brenham, passed away Saturday, Dec. 13, 2025 at Kruse Village.

Martha Ann Knobelsdorf was called home by the Lord on Dec. 10, 2025. Born on Aug. 7, 1934, in Austin, Martha was preceded in death by her grandparents Ralph and Anna Cloud and husband William Knobelsdorf.

Lorene Julia Toll Stork, 92, of Ezzell, entered into eternity with her Lord on Dec. 4, 2025, at Stevens Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, in Hallettsville. She was born in Waldeck, Fayette County, Texas, on Dec. 20, 1932, at the family home to Herman and Frieda Sohr Toll. She was baptized and confirmed at Waldeck Lutheran Church in Waldeck. She attended Bell Settlement School until the eighth grade after which she helped with the family farm. During those years she drove the family and neighbor’s tractors to peanut mills and cotton gins.

Funeral services for Phillip Procell, 88 of Giddings, were held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 13, 2025, at Waldeck Evangelical Lutheran Church in Waldeck with Tim Pitts officiating. Burial followed in the Waldeck Cemetery.
