Beverly Ann Drescher, age 62, passed away peacefully on Feb. 5, 2026, surrounded by family and love. She was born on Jan. 30, 1964, in Bryan to Luene and Grady Smith.

Beverly grew up alongside her three brothers, James, Billy, and Roy, and her beloved sister, Sally, with whom she shared an especially close bond. She was a beautiful, intelligent, curly-headed child who loved spending her days playing in the open fields of the ranch her family worked on—where her strong roots, work ethic, and love for all God’s creatures were formed.

At just eighteen years old, Beverly met a young Frank “Buster” Drescher at Somerville Lake on a hot summer day. From that moment on, they never parted. They married on Aug. 7, 1982. For fortythree years and six months they built a life grounded in love, family, and hard work. From their journey came two daughters, one son-in-law, six treasured grandchildren, and about two hundred cows—each a testament to the life they built side by side.

Beverly was preceded in death by her parents, Luene and Grady Smith; her brother James; her sister, Sally; and many other cherished friends and relatives who welcomed her home.

She leaves behind on this earth her devoted husband, Frank “Buster” Drescher; her daughters, Jennifer Cantrell and husband Justin of Ragley, La. and Elizabeth Jones of La Grange; and her six grandchildren— Georgia, Tristen, Cheyenne, Lee, Cali, and Madilyn, who were the absolute joy of her life. Also, brothers Roy and Billy, six sisters-in-law, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Beverly was a strong woman, deeply loved, and will be missed more than words can say. Her legacy lives on through her family, the land she loved, and the countless lives she touched. Including the many children that knew her as “Nanny” that she provided in home care for. Over thirty children were loved and cared for by her and known to her as “Nanny’s babies”.

The family would like to express appreciation for the love and care provided by the staff of Monument Hill Nursing Home of La Grange.

A visitation will be held at Koenig-Belvill Funeral Home & Cremations of La Grange on Wednesday, Feb. 11, 2026, from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m. The family will be present from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. to receive friends.
