Zoch
Zoch Eugene Wallace Zoch passed away surrounded by family on Feb. 25, 2025, in Houston. Born on July 22, 1940, in Warda, Gene was the ninth and youngest child of Alvin T. Zoch and Ernestine (Mertink) Zoch.
Gene is survived by his devoted wife of 55 years, Barbara Jane Zoch. Together, they created a family that included daughters Angela (Paul), Patty (Jeff), Kimberly, and Amy (Brian), as well as nine grandchildren: Leighanne, Darrell, Joseph, Nicole, Kerra, Tabitha (Walker), Ethan (Akanksha), Naomi, and Solomon and two great-grandchildren: Adam and Liam; who brought immeasurable joy to his life. Gene also leaves behind his brother Marvin (Joyce) and brother Rudy (Genie), along with sister-in-law Eva and numerous nieces and nephews.
Gene was preceded in death by his parents, baby granddaughter, his brothers Freddie Zoch, Elmer Zoch, and Henry Milton Zoch along with sisters-in-law Ruby and Emily; his sisters Hattie (Vern Sr.) Lovaasen, Irene (Richard) Weaver, and Evelyn (Ernest) Lehmann; niece Linda Schwartz; and great-nephews Daniel Edward Lehmann and Henry Zoch, III.
Visitation was held on Thursday, Feb. 27, 2025, from 4-7 p.m. at Koenig-Belvill Funeral Home & Cremations. Family was present to receive guests from 5-7 p.m.
Funeral Service was held at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, 600 FM 1482 in Warda, at 2 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 28, 2025. A graveside service was held immediately after at the Warda cemetery.
A Memorial Service was held on March 1, 2025, at 2 p.m. at Our Savior Lutheran Church, 5000 W. Tidwell Rd., Houston. The family welcomed all who knew and loved Eugene to join in celebrating his life.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Our Savior Lutheran School-Houston, Holy Cross Lutheran Church-Warda, or the Wendish Museum-Serbin.
