Werner Lee (Pete) Willrich, 81, of La Grange passed away on Tuesday, April 19, 2022.

Werner was born in La Grange on Jan. 10, 1941, the son of Werner and Antonia (Korenek) Willrich. He married Rosemarie Prince on Dec. 20, 1990 in Austin.

He worked as a Corrections Officer for Fayette County and retired after 20+ years of service. He also worked for Brasher Motor Company as the Service Manager and managed the American Legion Bowling Lanes as well. He was with the La Grange Volunteer Fire Department for 60 years and served as Fire Chief for 29 years. He loved being a member of the fire department.

He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in La Grange.

He is survived by his wife, Rosemarie, of La Grange; daughter, Kim Wiesman and husband, Justin; son, Scott Willrich and wife, Cheryl, all of Austin; stepchildren Michelle Burrows of La Grange and Doug Cleveland of Austin; four grandchildren: McKenna, Truman, Grant and Erin.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 26, 2022 from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. at Koenig-Belvill Funeral Home & Cremations. Family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. At 6 p.m., the La Grange Fire Department will conduct a memorial service in memory of Werner Willrich.
