Dolores Fay Wessels, 87, of Columbus, passed away on June 21, 2022 in Columbus.

She was born on Nov. 26, 1934 to Erwin H. Reuter and Edna (Michael) Reuter in Round Top. On Nov. 28, 1954 she married Wilburn “Boots” Wessels.

Dolores worked as a sales associate for many years at Style Shop, Waldvogels, and PK Shato Cleaners.

She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church.

Dolores enjoyed playing boo ray cards, dancing, gardening, sausage making day, cleaning the camphouse, and cooking and serving everyone.

Dolores is survived by her sons Richard Wessels and Doug Wessels and wife Anne; grandchildren Jenna Summers and husband Eric, Audrey Mooney and husband Ryan, Matthew Wessels and wife Amanda, Clayton Wessels and wife Codi, Casey Schindler and husband Garrett; great-grandchildren Harper Summers, June Summers, Hayes Mooney, Walker Mooney, Beau Wessels, Kora Wessels, Cade Wessels, Annie Wessels, Brooks Schindler, Nash Schindler, and Dawsyn Schindler.

She was preceded in death by her parents Erwin Reuter and Edna Reuter; husband Wilburn “Boots” Wessels; sister Lorine Domaschk; brothers Wilburn Reuter, Lavern “John” Reuter, and Kervin Reuter.

Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, June 28, 2022 at 10:30 a.m. at Henneke Funeral Home in Columbus. Deacon Sandye Fletcher will officiate. Visitation will be held one hour before from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.

Graveside service and burial will take place in Rutersville Cemetery in Rutersville on June 28, 2022 at 2 p.m.

Pallbearers were Matthew Wessels, Eric Summers, Ryan Mooney, Clayton Wessels and Garrett Schindler.
