Henry Weber, 87, of La Grange passed away Wednesday, July 27, 2022 at St. Mark’s Medical Center in La Grange.

Henry was born in La Grange on Jan. 14, 1935, the son of Albina (Konvicka) and Paul Weber.

On Dec. 27, 1959, he was united in marriage to Gladys Oppermann at St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church in La Grange.

Hard working, Henry started his career working in service stations at an early age. Later in life, he worked for Brasher Motor Company from 1973 to 1988. He then joined the Koenig Family of Funeral Homes with over 20 years of service. He finished his working career, retiring from Farmers Lumber Company. Always busy, Henry enjoyed gardening and started his own lawn mowing service for folks around town.

Henry had a real passion for keeping up with his kid’s sporting events. You could always find him on the sidelines of all their games, whether he was their coach or their biggest fan. He was also always outside doing something. Catching fish was done a lot of those times. His biggest smile would always be on his face when he was around any of his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Henry loved his annual gambling trips to Coushatta and his Lotto scratch off tickets. In his last days at home, he would enjoy sitting on the front porch watching the traffic go by while drinking his cup of coffee and eating his Oreo cookies.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Gladys (Oppermann) Weber; daughters: Sherry and Gene Jaster of La Grange and Cindy and Ray Goehring of Ledbetter; sons: Kenny and Patti Weber of La Grange and Mike and Barb Weber of Greeley, Colo.; sisters: Gladys Ahlschlager and Dorothy Drab, both of La Grange; sister-in-law, Dorothy Weber; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Elton and Ann Oppermann; brother-in-law, Glen Roy Oppermann, and special friend Donna; eight grandchildren: Matt and An’na Jaster, Brady and Jennifer Goehring, Seth and Tori Weber, Kailie Weber and Corey Crouch, Cody Goehring and Brett Willis, Ryan and Beka Jaster; eight great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Alfred Weber; sisters: Mary Weber and Martha Bordovsky; and brothers-in-law: Franklin Ahlschlager and Ruddie Drab.
