Glen Roy Urban passed away March 29, 2023 at the age of 75. He was born in La Grange on Feb. 16, 1948 to Julius Anton Urban and Hertha (Friemel) Kruse.
Glen Urban was preceded in death by his grandmother, Nora Friemel.
He is survived by his mother, Hertha Kruse; daughters, Mandy Wheeler and husband Lanny and Chelsea Harvey; grandchildren, Eric Wheeler, Alexis Wheeler, Alexandria Wheeler, Lindy Wheeler, Tristan Harvey and Brielle Harvey.
Glen graduated from Texas A&M University with a degree in Agriculture in 1976. He was part of many organizations that he loved, especially the Brangus Association, PRCA, Saddle & Sirloin Club at A&M, TYRAand also being inducted into the SC TX Rodeo Ring of Honor. He was a rodeo clown for many years starting in the early 70’s. He worked for Sloan Williams & Tommy & Bobby Steiner from amateur to professional rodeos. He donated all of his rodeo life in and out of the arena.
Later in life, he was a cattle broker until almost the day he passed away. He spent his time traveling to his grandkids’ sporting events and being part of their lives.
A Celebration of Life was held April 22, 2023, starting at 2 p.m. at Christine Baptist Church, 202 Avenue I Christine, Texas 78012.
