Jerry Ross Trousdale, known affectionately as Jerry to his friends and family, passed away at the age of 87 on Nov. 17, 2025, in Molalla, Ore.

Born on Sept. 14, 1938, in Combes, Jerry lived a full life characterized by his friendly nature, quick wit, and unwavering kindness. Jerry is survived by his beloved wife of nearly 30 years, Rhonda, and their loving daughters Becky, Jeri Ann and her husband Mike, Courtney and her husband Josh, and Megan and her husband Chris. He was a proud grandfather to Cory, Garrett, Sequoia, Eli, and Ethan, and he cherished the special moments with his great-grandson, Connor. His sister Carol and her husband Paul, brother-in-law Paul, sister-in-law Robin, brotherin- law George and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews will also hold dear the memory of Jerry’s warmth and humor.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Dorothy Trousdale, who instilled in him the values of family and community that he carried throughout his life.

A proud graduate of Harlingen High School in Harlingen, Texas where he enjoyed playing the trombone in band, Jerry briefly attended Texas A&I before embarking on a remarkable 42-year career with PPG Paint. As a sales rep in their industrial paint coatings division, he was known for his dedication, reliability, and the genuine relationships he built with clients and coworkers alike.

Jerry’s Christian faith was a cornerstone of his life, guiding his actions and providing comfort and strength in times of need. His commitment to his faith was evident in the way he lived each day and in his interactions with others. An avid outdoorsman, Jerry found joy in the simplicity of nature. He was happiest when fishing or hunting, and he cherished the time spent in his workshop or riding his lawnmower across the open fields. The thrill of skiing, dirt biking, and RV camping at the Frio River were among his favorite pursuits, as was a leisurely round of golf or a competitive game of bowling. Yet, nothing brought Jerry more pleasure than supporting his grandsons at their various extracurricular activities, where he was their most enthusiastic cheerleader.

Jerry will be remembered not only for his achievements and hobbies but more so for the love and laughter he shared with everyone he met. His ability to light up a room with his humor, his readiness to lend a hand, and his unfailing kindness are the hallmarks of his legacy. As we say goodbye to Jerry, we celebrate a life lived to the fullest, a journey marked by joy, companionship, and an unwavering commitment to family. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him, and his spirit will continue to inspire us for years to come.

The family would like to acknowledge Jerry’s caregivers in Oregon: Polly, Jane, Pauline, Gary, April and Jamie along with his caregiver in Texas, Maggie. Their care and compassion extended to Jerry will never be forgotten.
