A visitation for Raymond Villanueva Tobar, Jr. is scheduled for Thursday, July 20, 2023 from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the Fayette Memorial Funeral Home in La Grange. The family will be present from 5 to 7 p.m. A private family burial will take place at the Ledbetter Cemetery in Ledbetter.

Raymond Villanueva Tobar, Jr. passed away at his home on July 17, 2023 surrounded by his loving family.

Raymond was born on Oct. 24, 1954 in Tahoka, Texas to Raymond Tobar and Dora Villanueva Tobar. He married Rosie Ramos on May 15, 1980 in Bay City and they had five daughters. He spent most of his life working as a CDL truck driver. When Raymond wasn’t on the road, he enjoyed playing dominoes, watching Westerns and drinking beer. Raymond loved spending time with his daughters and their families. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.

Raymond is survived by his mother, three brothers and one sister; his daughters: Mary Tobar, Gina Tobar, Jennifer Rose Tobar and Jeramie Green, Rita Clay and husband Rachard, and Sylvia Ann Tobar; grandchildren: Angel and husband Adrian, Josh, John, Spencer, Nicholas, Nina, Naomi, Mia, Sariah, Layla, Issac, Avrie, Gio, Zuly, and Anthony, great grandchildren; Joseph, Ava, Londyn, Addi, Jerry, Eli and Isabella.

Raymond was preceded in death by his father, and his wife Rosie Ramos Tobar.

The family requests that memorial donations be made to Hospice Brazos Valley or a charity of one’s choice.
