Jimmie Erline Tatum passed away on Sunday, March 17, 2024, at the age of 85. She was born in Bonita, La. on Nov. 7, 1938 to Bryam Lee Madison and Oma Irene Green Madison.

Jimmie is preceded in death by her parents, daughter Pamela Strickland, sister Ina Bea Blackwell, and brothers George, Gary and James Mose Madison.

She is survived by her husband of 68 years, Ben Tatum of Flatonia and daughters Beckie Freytag (Gerald) of Witting and Brenda Ray (Lee Morris) of Flatonia; grandchildren Manda Stephenson (Paul) of Austin, Dylan Freytag (Kati) of Idaho, Dale Freytag (Jessica) of Dripping Springs, Ryan Ray (Brittney) of La Grange, Matt Ray (Carol) of Flatonia, Sarah Strickland of Colorado Springs, Colo., Katelyn Harvey (Michael) of San Antonio; great grandchildren Emory Stephenson, Flynt Stephenson, Otis Freytag, Clive Freytag, Andy Freytag, Tatum Freytag, Bryce Freytag, Brayden Ray, Garrette Ray, Paislee Gunter, Cyrus Gandy and Michael Kenneth Harvey.

Avisitation for Jimmie will be on Tuesday, March 26, 2024 starting at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral service at 11 a.m. at Smith Funeral Home in Flatonia. Burial will be in the Oak Hill Cemetery in Flatonia.

Attending as Pallbearers: Paul Stephenson, Dylan Freytag, Dale Freytag, Ryan Ray, Matt Ray and Michael Harvey.
