Graveside services for Alfred Steahr Jr., 73 of Giddings, are scheduled for 3 p.m. on Saturday, May 3, 2025 at the Giddings City Cemetery in Giddings with Scott Nelson officiating.

Alfred Ralph Steahr Jr. was born on May 8, 1951 in Giddings, the son of Alfred Ralph Steahr Sr. and Theresa “Tracy” (Pohorelsky) Steahr. He attended school in Giddings and graduated from Giddings High School. Alfred was employed as a police officer with the Giddings Police Department before going to work for the United States Postal Service as a Postal Carrier. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, collecting guns, and taking care of his cattle. He was an avid reader and especially liked western novels.

Alfred passed away the morning of Wednesday, April 23, 2025 at Monument Hill Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in La Grange.
