It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Ernest Sandoval, a truly remarkable man who embodied kindness, integrity, a generous spirit, and a warm sense of humor. He departed his earthly life on June 18, 2025, at the age of 72.

A true patriarch, Ernest was the cornerstone of his family, offering not just unconditional love but also a steady source of wisdom and perspective. His quick wit and infectious smile made every moment with him a joy. He adored his grandchildren, finding immense happiness in watching them play sports and celebrating their successes. A special bond was shared with his youngest grandchild, Rex, whom he proudly called his best friend. They shared countless adventures and memories, from bike rides to daily trips to preschool during Ernest’s retirement.

A great fisherman and a highly skilled diesel mechanic, Ernest was always willing to share his expertise and passion. His legacy is one of selflessness, wisdom, and an enduring love that will continue to inspire all who knew him.

Ernest is preceded in death by his parents, Jose Sandoval and Estella Quintanilla; brother Joe Henry Sandoval; sisters Janie Gonzales and Eloise Paredez; mother and fatherin- law, Frank Martinez Sr. and Trinadad Martinez.

He leaves behind a loving family who will forever cherish his memory, including his loving wife, Florence Sandoval; beloved daughters Kelli Sandoval (Ruben Flores); Kristi Sandoval (Noe Hernandez); and Yvonne Ennett Sandoval; grandchildren, Christian Flores, Landri, Harli, and Rex Hernandez, Richard Miguel Garza Jr., and Albert Arredondo III; and sister Tiny Sandoval (Rene Urigas).

Ernest’s unwavering integrity, wisdom, and his loving heart will forever be remembered.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 24, 2025, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Koenig-Belvill Funeral Home & Cremations of La Grange with family present at this time to receive visitors. A Holy Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, June 25, 2025, at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church of Plum at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at Queen of the Holy Rosary Catholic Cemetery in Hostyn.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Queen of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Hostyn.
