Carolyn (Boettcher) Ryza of Caldwell, passed away peacefully on Monday, Dec. 9, 2024. 

Carolyn was born on Jan. 17, 1958 in Houston. She married Dennis Ryza of Caldwell in 2004. 

She is survived by husband, Dennis Ryza; her two sons: Shannon Boettcher of Katy, and Christian Boettcher and his wife, Chelsea and their daughter, Veda of Magnolia, and their father, James Boettcher of Katy. Carolyn is also survived by her two siblings: Ronnie Tenney of Magnolia, and Madelyn Smith Landers and her husband, Wendell of Montgomery; and brother-in-law, Larry Ryza and his wife, Helen of Cypress; along with numerous nieces and nephews in Cypress, Porter, Conroe, Montgomery and Spring. 

She was preceded in death by her parents: James and Catherine Tenney of Magnolia, Texas; along with her father-in-law, Henry Ryza and mother-in-law, Allene Ryza of La Grange. Carolyn graduated from Cy-Fair High School in 1976. She worked for Daniel Measurement and Control/Emerson for twenty-five years in Houston, and also Sysco Foods in Cypress.

Carolyn and Dennis returned toAustin in 2017 where Carolyn worked for Matrix Absence Management as a Customer Service Representative. Later, they moved to their new home in Caldwell, where Carolyn worked from home to the present. Carolyn and Dennis enjoyed their weekends doing chores at their country getaway in Muldoon/West Point feeding the deer and fishing on their property. Carolyn also enjoyed traveling and visiting various state parks.

The family would like to thank all of the dedicated and caring doctors, nurses, and staff at Baylor Scott & White Caldwell and College Station Cancer Center and Brenham Hospice. The family is also so grateful to Father Melvin Dornak of St. Mary’s Catholic Church of Caldwell and Father Chris Smith of Sacred Heart Catholic Church of La Grange.

A visitation was held at Koenig-Belvill Funeral Home & Cremations of La Grange on Thursday, Dec. 12, 2024 from 5 - 7 p.m. with family present at this time to receive friends. A Holy Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church of La Grange on Friday, Dec. 13, 2024 at 10 a.m. with burial to follow at the La Grange City Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice Brazos Valley or to Baylor Scott & White Medical Center of Brenham.
