James Allen Richter, 72, of La Grange, went to be with our Lord on Thursday, July 7, 2022. He died of cancer after a short three month fight.

James was born in Weimar on May 26, 1950, to Adolph and Vlasta (Supak) Richter.

He attended St. Rose of Lima Catholic School until the 8th grade. He graduated from Schulenburg High School in 1968. In August, 1971, he married the love of his life, Marilyn.

James worked for American Muffler after graduating from high school. Before he married, he worked for Coca Cola Bottling Company. He worked for Coca Cola Bottling for approximately 23 years. He then went to work for Mrs. Baird’s Bread and worked for them over 10 years. Later in 2001, after his wife passed away, he went to work for Frito Lay where he stayed until he retired in 2014.

James’ hobbies included bowling, fishing and watching his favorite sports teams the Dallas Cowboys and Texas Longhorns.

He is survived by a son, Brandon Keith Malota and wife, Kristina, of Muldoon; twin sister, Jearline (Richter) Wick and husband, Frank Wick, Jr. of High Hill; brother, Arnold Stoever Jr. and wife, Beatrice, of Schulenburg; granddaughter, Amelia Malota; nieces and nephews: Jacqueline Brown, Janice Stewart, Barbara Wick, Susan Wick, Frank Wick III, Ronnie Wick, Jeremy Stoever, Joshua Stoever and Shelly Holub; sister-in-law, Dotsy Elliott of Shiner; numerous great nieces and nephews; and numerous other children in James’ and Marilyn’s life.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Marilyn; grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Rudolph Supak and Mr. and Mrs. Henry Richter.

Visitation was held on Wednesday, July 13, 2022 from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. at Koenig-Belvill Funeral Home & Cremations. Family received friends from 5 to 7 p.m. A Rosary was recited at 7 p.m.

Funeral Services were held at Koenig-Belvill Funeral Home & Cremations at 10 a.m. on Thursday, July 14, 2022. Burial followed at La Grange City Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the La Grange Fire Department, Schulenburg Volunteer Fire Department or to the Knights of Columbus in La Grange.
