Raeke
Lydia Elenora (Ashorn) Raeke, 92 of New Ulm, passed away on Friday,Aug. 11, 2023.
Lydia was born in New Ulm on Aug. 24, 1930, the daughter of the late Milda (Hinkel) and Arthur Ashorn. She is the widow of Milton Raeke They were married at St. John Lutheran Church on Oct. 29, 1949. Together they raised a son and daughter.
A loving wife, mother and grandmother, she was a homemaker and took care of her father after her mother passed away. She was an excellent seamstress working at Joe Frank Fashions in Bellville and later worked 26 years for Blue Bell Creameries in Brenham.
She is survived by daughter, Cynthia Hrachovy and husband, Lawrence of Palacios; son, Curt Raeke and wife, Sheila of New Ulm; four grandchildren: Reese Raeke and wife Melissa, Anthony Raeke, Braden Raeke, Ryan Malek and wife, Tabitha of Stephenville; three greatgrandchildren: Gunner, Elenora, Wade Raeke and baby Malek due in October.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Milton and her parents and father and motherin- law, Ernst and Edna (Muenzler) Raeke.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, Aug. 16, 2023 at 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at St. John Lutheran Church, New Ulm. Family received friends at this time. Funeral Services followed at 10:30 am. Burial followed at the Industry Methodist Cemetery, Industry.

The family would like to thank the caregivers at Magnolia Assisted Living in Bellville and Oak Haven in Industry for the care they gave her these last three years.
