Funeral services for Betty Peschke-Duke are scheduled for Nov. 4, 2024 at the Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Warda beginning at 11 a.m. with interment following at the Giddings City Cemetery.

Betty Peschke-Duke, 88 of La Grange, passed away on Oct. 29, 2024 in Giddings. She was born on Feb. 12, 1936 in Giddings to Goerge Pohorelsky, Sr. and Martha Alvina Gerlach.

Betty worked at the Victor Stanzel Company as a toy maker for 30 years until she became a homemaker where she enjoyed sewing, making blankets and gardening. She was an enthusiastic deer hunter and also enjoyed fishing and boating. She spent almost every

weekend in Port O’ Connor enjoying the water. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother and she will be dearly missed by friends and family.

Betty is survived by her children, Ronald Peschke and wife, Dianne of Richmond, and Gail Cook and husband, Clay of La Grange; brothers, George Pohorelsky, Jr (Jane) and Charles Pohorelsky; grandchildren, Michael Peschke (Kay), Courtney Rice (Kerry), Chad Peschke (Linsey), Kim Cook, Kirk Peschke (Derni), Valerie Hinze (Garrett) and Elizabeth Peschke; eleven great grandchildren, sisters-in-law, along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Betty is preceded in death by her parents; son, Nathan Peschke; Nathaniel Peschke and Jim Duke.

The family requests that memorial donations be made to The Holy Cross Lutheran Church Ladies Aid, Gardenia Janssen Animal Shelter in La Grange or to Hospice Brazos Valley.
