Novosad
Rosie Lee (Stibora) Novosad, 90, of La Grange, passed away peacefully with her Rosary in her hands on Saturday, Jan. 7, 2023.
Rosie was born in Fayetteville on Oct. 20, 1932, the daughter of Dela (Cook) and Joe Stibora, Sr.
Rosie fell in love and married George Arnold Novosad on Oct. 28, 1951 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, now known as St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Ellinger. Together they raised five children, Maggie, Janet, Gracie, George, and David.
Rosie worked as a kitchen helper at the Flatonia Nursing Home and also enjoyed babysitting. She had a servant’s heart and was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and Sacred Heart Altar Society. She loved bingo and word searches. Rosie loved to bake. She loved the cake walk at church festivals. She had a great love of people and loved to visit, chatting while drinking coffee and having dessert. Her favorite holiday was Christmas where she enjoyed her family, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Rosie was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
She is survived by her daughters: Maggie Rose Becka and husband, Anton of Columbus; Janet Marie Krenek and husband, Lad of Fayetteville; Gracie Ann Fucik and husband, Jimmie of La Grange; son, David Lee Novosad and wife, Jacquline of Fayetteville; sister, Mae Dell Stojanik of Ellinger; daughter-in-law, Glinda Novosad Prochaska; grandchildren: Jacqueline Givens, Amanda Keilers, Tammy Orange, Brian Krenek, Ashley Havel, Tracy Lutkenhaus, Jimmie Eric Fucik, Adam, Julia and Joey Novosad; Carrie Brending, Stephanie Novosad, Brandon Novosad, Jenny Rebel and Kyle Novosad; great-grandchildren: Hannah and Brianna Orange; Emily and Ethan Keilers; Ryan, Mary and Lucy Lutkenhaus; Leann and Blake Brending, Jakelyn Jordan, Hunter and Riley Castleman; Ava, Jack and Dawson Fucik; Chase, Avery, and Abbey Havel; Khloe and Haven Rebel; Carter Novosad and step-grandchildren: Brooklyn Reese, Bailey White and Brittain White.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, George Novosad; son, George Edward Novosad; brother, Joe Stibora and baby sister, Minnie Stibora.
Visitation was held on Thursday, Jan. 12, 2023 from noon to 7 p.m. at Koenig-Bellvill Funeral Home & Cremations in La Grange. Family received friends from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. A Holy Rosary was recited at 7 p.m.
Funeral Services will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 539 E. Pearl St. in La Grange, at 10 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 13, 2023. A Reception will be held at the Sacred Heart Msgr. Harry Mazurkiewicz Center. A Private Burial will be held at 1:30 p.m. at Halamicek Cemetery.
