Sheri Simmons Nolen, passed away on March 12, 2024, at the age of 55 after a valiant battle with cancer. Born on Feb. 10, 1969, in Austin, Sheri’s infectious smile and warm heart touched many throughout her lifetime.

Sheri worked in the insurance field for many years, she then went on to work at Bott’s Title and most recently at Richard Schmidt Jewelry, where she was not only an employee but a friend to many.

Sheri found immense pleasure in gardening. Her green thumb was matched by her talent in the kitchen, where she was famous for her delicious baked goods. Each year, she looked forward to participating in the county fair, earning her ribbons and the admiration of fellow baking enthusiasts.

But perhaps the role that Sheri cherished most was that of “Lolly” to her grandchildren Kamryn and Levi. She reveled in this title. Her grandchildren were the light of her life, and she poured her love into every moment she spent with them, creating memories that will be treasured forever.

Sheri is survived by her husband, Marvin Nolen, daughter, CJ and her husband Jake Franke of Winchester, along with her grandchildren Kamryn Franke and Levi Franke. She is also survived by her dad, Curtis Simmons, sister Anissa and husband Mike Menefee, nephew Chris Menefee, niece Connor Menefee and special friend Alex Gutierrez, little sister Myra Simmons and niece Cara Homer all of La Grange. Sheri is also survived by many aunts, uncles and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her beloved dog Lulu, her late mother Leni Ann Petschik Simmons, her late paternal grandparents Leon and Octavia Simmons of Mt Airy, North Carolina and her late maternal grandparents Bill and Frieda Petschik of La Grange.
