Lois Ann Noak, 85, of Round Top, peacefully passed away on Saturday, June 17, 2023, in Giddings.

She was born on Dec. 30, 1937, to Eddie and Ida (Struck) Braun in Burton.

She grew up in the Burton area, attending elementary and middle school in Brenham. She then moved to Rockdale with her family, where she graduated from Rockdale High School in 1956. There she raised her three children.

She moved to Round Top after marrying the love of her life, Wilbert Noak on April 6, 1990, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Round Top.

Lois worked as an accredited registered medical transcriptionist at Richard Memorial Hospital in Rockdale for 20 years. She followed with one year at College Station Medical Center, and then worked eight years at Fayette Memorial Hospital in La Grange. She continued her career working at Bluebell Creameries in the insurance department. After Bluebell, she worked parttime at the Round Top General Store and for a dress shop in Henkle Square.

She was a devout member of the Bethlehem Lutheran Church of Round Top. She was very talented and had many hobbies and interests, such as fishing, dancing to polkas and waltzes, cooking and baking. She was an excellent seamstress and sewed multiple wedding dresses, including her own. She acquired a large collection of cookbooks and a prized collection of Leon Hale books which she and Wilbert collected throughout the years. She had a beautiful singing voice and shared her talents with Rockdale Peace Lutheran Church choir and for numerous weddings.

She is survived by her husband, Wilbert Noak of Round Top; daughter, Lisa Payne and husband, Dennis of Rockdale; son, Eddie Noak and wife Amy, of Thrall; sister, Elaine Braun, of Austin; step-son, Darren Noak and wife Holly, of Lakeway; son-in-law, David White, of Austin; sisterin- law, Evelyn Kieke of Wallis; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; four stepgrandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Lois was preceded in death by her parents, Eddie and Ida Braun; daughter, Lizette White; and brother, Robert Braun.

A Memorial Service will be held at Koenig-Belvill Funeral Home & Cremations in La Grange at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 14, 2023, with Rev. John David Nedbalek officiating. A reception will follow at Bethlehem Lutheran Church Education Hall, 412 S. White St., Round Top.
