Cynthia Jane (Orsak) Niesner, 73, of Houston and also of Ellinger, entered into Eternal Rest on Monday, March 28, 2022.

Cynthia was born in La Grange on Sept. 3, 1948, the daughter of James and Edna Lee (Lave) Orsak.

She graduated from La Grange High School, class of 1967, and attended Blinn College.

She married Dennis Niesner on Sept. 9, 1972 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Ellinger. They were blessed to have shared 49 years of marriage.

Cynthia devoted 36 years of her working life as a Texas Licensed Child Care Provider. She was honored as Babysitter of the Year in the State of Texas in 2008. Cynthia also held the position as an officer for the Texas Professional Home Childcare Association.

Cynthia and Dennis were residents of Houston for 47 years. In addition to her career in child care, Cynthia worked as a treasurer for St. Matthew the Evangelist Catholic Church of Houston. In 1996, they settled into the Ellinger community to be close to family and friends. Cynthia became actively involved with the Ellinger Chamber of Commerce, serving as a director for a number of years.

She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church of Ellinger, St. Matthew the Evangelist Catholic Church of Houston, and held membership with SPJST.

Her many hobbies included oil painting and playing bingo. Cynthia was a devoted mother and a proud grandmother.

She is survived by her loving husband, Dennis Niesner; son, Chad Niesner and wife, Jennifer of Houston; daughter, Chanda Dinges and husband, Chris, of Cypress; sister, Bernita Hlinsky and husband, Calvin, of Ellinger; and niece, Christi McFadden of Weimar; grandchildren: Dylan Niesner, Riley Niesner, Cole Dinges, Cori Dinges, Carly Dinges and Bailey Dinges.

Cynthia was preceded in death by her parents.

Visitation will be held on Friday, April 1, 2022 from 12 to 6 p.m. at Koenig-Belvill Funeral Home & Cremations in La Grange with family present to receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m. A Rosary will be recited at 6 p.m.

Funeral Services will be held at St. Mary Catholic Church of Ellinger at 10 a.m. on Saturday, April 2, 2022. Burial will follow at St. Mary Catholic Church Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Ellinger Chamber of Commerce or to St. Mary Catholic Church of Ellinger.
