Neuman
Martha “Marty” (Prince) Neuman, 77, of La Grange, passed away on Monday, July 17, 2023.
Marty was born on January 24,1946, and grew up in San Antonio with a tight knit family filled with dozens of cousins, aunts and uncles. She participated in many school activities; she especially loved to go dancing. After spending time at the University of Mexico City, she got married and moved to Austin. She raised her two children and was the best aunt to her nieces and nephew. She had an opendoor policy where anyone and everyone was welcomed in her home. She housed and fed many. Marty had a way of taking any occasion to the next level: creating special moments, her attention to details and generating overall excitement. Parties, mums, gifts, party favors, cakes, candy apples, teacher gifts, holidays and party themes were her specialty. Marty also loved kickball and especially coaching. Purple was her color. She could pack a car and put together a snacks and food spread like no other. She was one in a million and her legacy lives on in her children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Marty met and married Dennis in 1993 and moved to La Grange. She was thrilled to be a stepmom to Dennis’ three young children. She taught at the school and worked and retired from the Texas Department of Human Services.
Marty was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother whose heart was filled with love for her family. For decades, she generously dedicated her time and efforts to the Fair Association and the Country Store, leaving a lasting impact on the community she cherished. A true creative spirit, Marty found joy in assisting friends and family with their crafting endeavors; always willing to lend a helping hand and share her passion. Her kindness, warmth, and selflessness touched the lives of many, and her memory will forever remain a source of inspiration to those who knew her.
She is survived by her husband, Dennis Neuman; son, Tracer Bright of Trent; daughter, Caprice Richards and husband, Aaron, of Austin; two step-sons: Chris Neuman of Bertram; Tommy Neuman and wife, Melissa, of Dallas; step-daughter, Shelley Neuman and partner, Spencer, of Los Angeles, Calif.; sister, Rosemarie Willrich of La Grange; six grandchildren: Ramsey Richards, Hudson Richards, Sophie Neuman, Grace Neuman, Sadie Neuman and Sawyer Neuman; nephew, Doug Cleveland; nieces: Cheryl Willrich and husband, Scott Willrich; and niece, Michelle Burrows; as well as numerous cousins of whom she remained closely united with until her passing.
She was preceded in death by her father, Alfonso Prince.
