Muske
Lore Maria Weber Muske passed away on Friday, June 23, 2023 at the age of 100.
She was born on July 30, 1922, on a farm near Shelby, the 8th of 11 children born to Fred and Laura Seibert Weber. She was baptized in the Christian faith at St. Paul Lutheran, Shelby, and was later confirmed at St. Paul Lutheran. Her early schooling was at Nassau Country School. On Oct. 15, 1944, she married Harry Muske at St. John Lutheran Church in Warrenton. They spent their married life farming. In 1974, she and Harry retired to Carmine. Harry passed away on Feb. 22, 1980. In 2018, she could no longer live alone and spent the last 5 years at Care Inn, La Grange.
Lore lived a simple life. Her joys in life included gardening and canning as well as tending her flowers, especially roses. She always looked forward to the lovely patch of bluebonnets in her yard each year. Visiting with family and friends also brought her much joy. Nephew Clyde Muske and wife Delores were of great assistance and loving care in Lore’s later years as she lived alone as well as her years in the nursing facility. At Care Inn, her link to the outside world was her radio tuned loudly to the La Grange station for the daily news. In telephone conversations with her brothers Curvey and Fred, she would repeat almost verbatim every detail of the daily happenings. She also found great joy in the weekly bingo games and was so excited when she won.
Lore was preceded in death by her husband; parents; sisters, Viola Muske (Louis), Delia Sacks (Dennis), Sadie Knutzen (Joe), Luetta Menn (Ernest), and Evelyn Fricke (Warren); brothers, Rawlin (Mary), Landus (Idella), and Floyd (LaVerl); sister-in-law, Vernell Weber; as well as nephews, Daniel, Clyde, and Howard Muske and niece, Susan Weber Kornfuehrer.
She is survived by her brothers, Fred of Austin and Curvey (Jean) of Fredericksburg. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
