In Loving Memory of Darold Lyn Moellenberndt Darold Lyn Moellenberndt,
a beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed away on Oct. 29, 2023, at the age of 73. He was born on Jan. 26, 1950, in La Grange, to Glenn and Doris Moellenberndt.
Darold graduated from La-Grange High School in 1968. He then attended The University of Houston, where he pursued a degree in pharmacology. Throughout his career, Darold worked diligently as a pharmacist, touching the lives of many with his kindness and compassion. He dedicated himself to his profession until his retirement in 2019, leaving behind a legacy of care and empathy.
Outside of his work, Darold found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He loved God, golf, and fishing. He was also a passionate sports fan, supporting the Houston Astros and the Dallas Cowboys with unwavering enthusiasm.
Darold’s warm sense of humor, easygoing nature, and immense kindness endeared him to everyone he met. He had a heart of gold and was always willing to lend a helping hand, making him a cherished friend to many.
He married the love of his life, Sally, on Aug. 5, 1978, and together they built a life filled with love, laughter, and endless cherished moments.
Above all, Darold treasured his family. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather who held his family close to his heart. His unconditional love and unwavering support were a source of strength for his children, Ken Sutton, Matthew Sutton, and Lyndsey Reed and his niece Mary Wade. He was also a proud and doting grandfather to numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Darold was preceded in death by his parents, Glenn and Doris Moellenberndt.
He is survived by his siblings, Glenda Kasper, Patricia Weber, and Frank Moellenberndt, along with their spouses. He is also survived by his adoring wife, Sally Moellenberndt, and his children Ken Sutton, Matthew Sutton, and Lyndsey Reed along with their spouses, grandchildren, greatgrandchildren, as well as a multitude of nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
In honoring Darold’s memory, let us remember his laughter, his kindness, and his love for life. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Amemorial service to celebrate Darold’s life was be held at The Gabriel’s Funeral Home at 393 N IH 35 in Georgetown on Sunday, Nov. 5 at 11 a.m. with the graveside service following directly after. A viewing was held at 10 a.m. before the service.
