Lorine Clara (Chovanec) Michalsky, age 92, born Aug. 17, 1932 in Ellinger to Frank Chovanec and Clara Urban Chovanec, died at her home with her family around her after a gallant battle with a lengthy illness on Thursday, May 15, 2025 in Houston.

Lorine was preceded in death by her parents and husband, John Michalsky.

She is survived by her son, Johnie Michalsky and wife Mary; grandsons, Kristopher, Nicholas and wife Susan; greatgrandchildren, Christian, Kaela and husband Oliver,Alexander, Joseph, Bradley and Annabelle; sister, Rose Tanecka and brother-in-law Joe Tanecka; nieces, Jolene and Janice.

On Sept. 18, 1951 in Columbus, Lorine married John Michalsky and later moved to Houston where she worked for Montgomery Ward. Lorine was a member of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, a member of S.P.J.S.T. Lodge No. 88 and the P.O.L.K. of A. Her hobby was gardening and sewing. She loved to go dancing every Saturday night.

A visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m. with a Rosary at 6 p.m.,Thursday, May 29, 2025 at Earthman Resthaven, 13102 North Freeway, Houston.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, May 30, 2025 at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, 501 Tidwell, Houston. The Rite of Committal will follow at Earthman Resthaven Cemetery.
