Menking

Pamela (Pam) Menking passed away on Oct. 11, 2025, in La Grange, at the age of 70.

Pam was born in La Grange on March 19, 1955, to Dolores (Vacula) Newton and Melvin Eck Menking. She graduated high school at McCallum High School in Austin.

Pam resided in the La Grange community for most of her life.

She is survived by her daughter, Lindsey and son-inlaw, Eric Tillery and granddaughter, Kinley Tillery, all of Schulenburg; two sisters: Belinda Beyer and husband, Ron of Pflugerville, and Debbie Zigal of La Grange; one brother, Myron Menking and wife, Laura of Floresville; her aunt, Clara (Clancy) Taylor of La Grange; along with numerous nephews, nieces, and cousins.

Pam loved animals and she had two sweet dogs, Jazzie and Ky. She loved to cook and bake and was very good at both. Her main talent was crafting, where Pam loved making and embellishing things.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Dolores Vacula Newton and stepfather, Robert (Bob); and father, Melvin Eck Menking; daughter, Lacey Ohnheiser Lewis; granddaughter, Kyla Faith Drozd; and brother-in-law, Bryan Zigal.

Per Pam’s wishes, a private celebration of life will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Kyla Faith Memorial Scholarship, to Gardenia E. Janssen Animal Shelter, or to a charity of one’s choice.
