Anita Andrea Bargas Mayer, a beacon of unwavering love and generosity, embarked on her heavenly journey on Oct. 14, 2025. Born on Dec. 11, 1955, in the town of Weimar, Anita’s life was a testament to the power of selfless devotion and the enduring strength of family ties. Her final moments were spent in La Grange, enveloped in the warmth of the home she so tenderly nurtured.

Anita’s story is one of boundless love and dedication. As a young girl growing up in Holman, she was the helpful hand on the family farm, learning the virtues of hard work and compassion early on. Her formative years at La Grange High School were followed by the pursuit of a cosmetology license, a path that allowed her to touch the lives of many with her caring hands and heart. But it was her role in the community that truly showcased her commitment to service, leading her to become a cherished member and president of various local organizations, including the Bluebonnet Lions Club, La Grange PTA, Texas Women’s League, and the board at Frisch Auf! Country Club.

Anita’s devotion to her family was unparalleled. As a mother and Nana, she poured her soul into raising her children and grandchildren, creating a home that was both a sanctuary and a place of joyous celebration. Her husband, Stephen Mayer, stood by her as a pillar of support, sharing in the laughter and love that filled their home. The legacy of her nurturing spirit is carried on by her sons, Kyle Adamcik with his wife Tenille, Phillip Adamcik with his wife Krystle, and her daughter Stacia Forsythe with her husband Bill. Her grandchildren, Caityn, Grant, Boone, Brooks, Ian, and Leah, will forever cherish the memories of their Nana’s unwavering affection and the lessons she imparted.

Anita’s siblings, Virginia Bargas, Louis and Vicky Bargas, Delfina and Jerry Rohde, Martha and Mike Powell, David and Virginia Bargas and Juanita Bargas, alongside numerous nieces and nephews, formed the tapestry of her extended family. Each thread was woven with love, a fabric that will endure through time. Anita now joins the celestial family reunion, preceded in death by her parents, Andrea and Joe Bargas of Holman, her in-laws, Reuben and Jo Ann Mayer, her brother Joe Bargas, her nephew Matthew Bargas and many other beloved family members.

The words loving, generous, and selfless are not merely descriptors but the essence of Anita’s being. Her life was a masterclass in compassion, teaching us all that the true measure of success lies in the love we share and the service we render to others.

Anita’s home was a haven of hospitality, her cooking a banquet of affection, and her garden a reflection of her inner beauty. As a masterful gardener, she cultivated not just plants but the hearts of all who knew her. Her floral designs were not merely arrangements but expressions of her soul’s artistry. Her laughter was the melody that set the rhythm of her home, and her ability to entertain was legendary, transforming every gathering into an unforgettable experience.

Today, let us honor Anita Andrea Bargas Mayer by living out the values she embodied. Let us embrace our loved ones a little tighter, serve our communities with a bit more zeal, and spread kindness as she did, with both hands and a full heart. Anita’s legacy of family and love is an eternal flame that will continue to light our way and inspire generations to come.
