Jacob John “Buddy” Mach, 91, passed away peacefully on Jan. 17, 2026. Buddy was born on July 9, 1934, to Elenora Mach (Kurtz) and Stanley Simon Mach.
Buddy was preceded in death by his parents; his daughter, Lisa Mach Polasek; and his siblings Stanley Mach, Dorothy Mach Saunders, Elenora Mach Loehr, and Mary Mach.
He is survived by his wife, Elois Mach; his siblings, Lilly Mae Hall and Margie Dennis; and his children Mark Wayne Mach, Joyce Mach Harrison, Charlotte Faldyn, Teresa Stevenson, and Steven Craig Wooster. He also leaves behind 13 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, and seven great-great-grandchildren, who will miss him deeply.
Buddy proudly served his country as a veteran of the United States Army. After his service, he built a life centered on hard work, dedication, and family. He was well known throughout the community as the owner of Buddy Mach and Son Bulldozing, a business he ran for over 50 years, reflecting his strong work ethic and lifelong commitment to providing for his family. Buddy was truly loved by all who knew him.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, Feb. 8, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the La Grange EH Kitchen. Family and friends are invited to come share stories and memories of Buddy and the Mach family. Light refreshments will be provided.
Buddy’s legacy of love, service, and hard work will live on through all those whose lives he touched.
