Funeral services for Steven Maass, 56 of Giddings, are scheduled for 10 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 16, 2023 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Giddings with Rev. Robert Tiner and Rev. Joshua Hahn officiating. Burial will follow in the Giddings City Cemetery.

Visitation will be held on Friday, Dec. 15, 2023 from 11 a.m. until 8 p.m. and on Saturday, Dec. 16, 2023 from 7 a.m. until 8 a.m. at Phillips and Luckey Funeral Home in Giddings. The family will be present for visitation Friday evening from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m.

Steven Ray Maass was born on Aug. 14, 1967 in La Grange, the son of Milton and Ruby (Synatschk) Maass. He worked for Kaemark in Giddings for many years before opening Maass Sawmill, which he owned and operated up until his death.

Steven passed away during the early morning hours of Tuesday, Dec. 12, 2023, at his home in Giddings, following a battle with cancer.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Phillips and Luckey Funeral Home in Giddings.
