Lueker
Brothers and Sisters in Christ, today we gather not in sorrow, but in celebration of life of, Carl Martin Lueker. Born on Dec. 21, 1947 in Magnum, Okla., the son to Reverend Carl Lueker and Minnie (Gerdes) Lueker. He went to be with God on Sunday, March 16, 2025, peacefully in his sleep.
He is survived by his wife of fifty-five years, Sharyn, his children Andrew and wife Melissa, Nette and husband Kevin, and Samuel and wife Sarah, and his grandchildren Cosette, Caleb, Kalan, Sharyn, Ephraim, and Benjamin. His sisters Karen, Esther, and Lois, along with their husbands Dan, Ken, and Randy, respectively, and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins, all held a special place in his heart.
Carl was a man of intellect and faith. He attended St. John’s College, Winfield, KS and finished his Geology degree at Concordia in Seward, Neb. and started his career as teacher for three years in Ponca City, Okla. He then went on to study at Oklahoma State University and served as a financial planner with Thrivent Financial for an impressive forty-four years, where his wisdom and guidance were a blessing to many.
Carl served with a joyful spirit in various capacities for the Fayette County Fair Association, the Colorado-Fayette Chapter of Thrivent, the Bastrop Lee Chapter of Thrivent, and the Life Underwriters Association. He was a member of the La Grange Chamber of Commerce, and the Fayette County Habitat for Humanity. A stalwart supporter of the Republican Party and a dedicated member of the Lone Star Camp Development Council, Carl’s involvement in his community was a reflection of his faith-filled life.
As we bid farewell to our beloved Carl, let us remember the words of our Lord Jesus Christ, who said, “Well done, good and faithful servant; you have been faithful over a little, I will set you over much. Enter into the joy of your master” (Matthew 25:23). Carl has indeed entered into the joy of his Master, having run the race set before him with perseverance and grace.
We rejoice in the knowledge that Carl’s story does not end here but continues in the presence of our Heavenly Father. He has left behind a legacy that will continue to inspire and guide us in the days to come. He will be remembered as the man who told you what you needed to hear, not what you wanted to hear because he cared.
Carl Martin Lueker’s life was a reflection of God’s love, and for that we praise God.
