Anthony Lynn LaFerney, 61, of La Grange, passed away on Friday, Sept. 9, 2022.

Anthony was born in Longview on Feb. 23, 1961, the son of the late Letha LaFerney.

He attended Longview High School and graduated in 1979. He worked in the Oil Field industry for a while, then went to school at Smith County Community College and found his true passion, becoming a nurse.

Anthony had a heart of gold and it showed in his profession as a nurse. Anthony not only worked in the hospital, but he also worked in nursing homes. He had a true gift for being compassionate and caring for others. He loved working on cars, especially old classic muscle cars. He loved the freedom he felt when he rode Harleys. He also had a passion for good food and loved trying all different types of food, a true Foodie.

He is survived by his sons: Joshua LaFerney of Gladewater; Ahley Tanton of Quitman, and Jessie LaFerney and wife, Kera of La Grange; daughter: Samantha Marin and husband, Pablin of La Grange, and grandchildren: Kristina Marin, Mikayla LaFerney, Pablin Marin, Jr., Rylie Tanton, Colter Garrison, Kady LaFerney, Koraline LaFerney and Jessie Scott LaFerney, Jr. and many beloved nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Letha LaFerney; brothers: Robert LaFerney, Scott LaFerney and Dennis Bell; and sisters, Rebecca LaFerney, Diana LaFerney and Vicky Caton.

Private Services will be held at a later date.
