Harry B. Kuder, beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend passed away on Friday, Oct. 18, 2024 in Katy.

He was born to Allen Howe Kuder and Winifred Chrisman Kuder on April 1, 1933 in Akron, Ohio.

Harry was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Caroline Kuder Stapleton.

He is survived by Suzanne Hartley Kuder, his loving wife of 56 years, his daughter Kara Gillean and her husband Bill, along with two grandchildren, Hartley Elizabeth Gillean of Katy and William Connor Gillean of Fulshear.

Harry was a dedicated and loving family man to both Suzy and Kara. Harry held Bachelor and Masters degrees in Geology from Miami University of Ohio in Oxford, Ohio where he was a member of Beta Theta Pi fraternity.

After graduation Harry accepted a job with Sun Oil Company in Midland. He later worked for Sun Oil in McAllen where he met and married Suzanne Hartley. They moved to Houston where they lived for thirty years and established their family. During his career in Houston, he worked for Texas Gas Transmission. He was a member of the Houston Geological and New Orleans Geological Societies. He was a 32nd degree Mason.

Harry was an avid University of Texas football fan who held season tickets for many, many years. Harry also loved to travel with his family, especially in the Southwestern and Western United States.

After retirement, Harry and Suzanne moved to their property in Fayette County. He loved his new life in “Kuderville” and enjoyed many wonderful years spent in Muldoon. He was an avid lover of all things outdoors, including gardening, fishing, bird watching, deer and turkey hunting. His greatest hobby was hunting on his property along the Nueces River where he created lasting memories with family and friends.

Our hearts are truly broken. We find solace in the fact that Harry is at peace and his health is being restored by our loving God. We feel so blessed to have had someone so joyful and loving in our lives until the very end. Thankfully, we know that this is just the beginning to an everlasting life with Harry forever.

Harry’s legacy of love, dedication to family and his appreciation for the outdoors will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.

Per his request, he wanted a small family funeral. The family will have a celebration of life in the future.
