Gloria Jean Kubecka, a beacon of love and creativity, passed away on Aug. 12, 2024, in Troup, at the age of 81.
Born on Jan. 11, 1943, in Frelsburg, Gloria lived a life marked by dedication to her family, her hobbies, and her passions. Gloria’s early years were spent in the peaceful surroundings of Columbus, Texas, where she completed her high school education. Her academic journey led her to a respected career in the banking industry.
In the heart of her home life was Gloria’s beloved husband, Ludvik Kubecka, who predeceased her. Together, they built a family rooted in love and mutual respect. Gloria’s legacy continues through her devoted son, Matthew Kubecka, her caring daughter-in-law, Molly Kubecka, and her treasured grandson, Collin Kubecka. Each family member was a testament to Gloria’s nurturing spirit and her capacity to instill values of kindness and thoughtfulness.
Beyond her family, Gloria was a woman of many interests. Her passion for gardening was evident to all who knew her, as her home was surrounded by a kaleidoscope of flowers and plants that attracted neighbors and friends alike. Her garden was not just a hobby but a canvas where her creativity and love for beauty were on full display. Music and dance were also integral parts of Gloria’s life. She had an unwavering love for polka and waltz dancing, often gracing the dance floor with elegance and joy. Her rhythm and grace were infectious, inspiring others to join in the dance and celebrate the simple pleasures of life.
Those who had the privilege of knowing Gloria would describe her as loving, creative, and thoughtful. She had the unique ability to make everyone around her feel valued and heard, whether it was through her warm conversations or her kind gestures. Gloria’s presence was a comforting and inspiring force, leaving a lasting impact on the hearts of those she touched.
As we bid farewell to Gloria Jean Kubecka, we reflect on a life lived with purpose and generosity. She was a woman who embraced each day with a positive spirit and who spread love and creativity wherever she went.

To honor Gloria’s life a visitation was held on Thursday, Aug. 15, 2024 at Koenig-Belvill Funeral Home & Cremations in La Grange from 2 - 6 p.m. with the family present from 4 - 6 p.m. to receive friends. A Holy Rosary will be recited at 6 p.m.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 16, 2024 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Fayetteville. Burial will follow at St. John the Baptist Catholic Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. John the Baptist Catholic Church of Fayetteville and for mass intentions in loving memory of Gloria.
