Knapik
Michael Edward Knapik was born to Aloysius Knapik and Jennifer Cremona in Marlin, on Jan. 14, 1972. He passed away unexpectedly on May 25, 2024, in Smithville, at the age of 52.
Michael’s educational journey took him through St. Mary’s School and Bremond High School. On Nov. 24, 2003, he married Tracy Greebon, the love of his life, in Comal County. Michael’s professional life was marked by his unwavering commitment to Union Pacific, where he dedicated over twenty-six years of service. Before that, he enjoyed operating the heavy machinery at Walnut Creek Mine for seven years.
In his younger years, Michael was full of adventure. He loved the outdoors, including hunting and fishing with his friends. Michael’s fondest memories came from working on cars with his dad.
Michael took immense pride in his wife and three boys; his family meant everything to him. He enthusiastically supported his boys in every sport they participated in and cherished every moment. Michael was known as the “prankster” of the family and had a talent for pulling off phone pranks. Despite his penchant for finding “good deals,” he often fell for online scams, including his recent purchase of “Tecovas” boots.
He lived in La Grange for 19 years, previously in New Braunfels. Michael attended the First Baptist Church of La Grange and was a member of the BLET Union Pacific Southern Region.
Michael departed from this world prematurely, but his memory lives on through his lasting impact on everyone who knew him. His kindness, humor, and unwavering support continue to inspire those whose lives he touched.
